Happening Art Piece
This is my Art project for module 4. It is a tribute to Alan Kaprows Fluids. I decided to do a miniature version of Fluids because after watching video within Glenn's class it inspired me in more ways than one. At first watching the video was boring and had me wondering what's the point of watching ice melt? But as Glenn kept talking about fluids it came to me that it's not just the ice melting it's how it's melting. It came to me as a metaphor for life. We start as an ice cube in life but slowly melt away, an ice cube is fairly strong in structure but slowly melts making itself vulnerable to breaking. As teenagers are bones are strong and healthy but as we get older we become more and more vulnerable to breaking bones. Setting up the ice was fairly hard as it wasn't complete blocks but once I got some stack most stayed up. As it continued to melt the ice took a form of it's own some connecting with the ice that was stacked upon it. It took the ice over 5 hours to melt but was well worth the wait.
